This week I am the Pretties challenger and my challenge is to use eyelets on your creations!! I am a tad burned out on cards right now so I thought I would check out the Technique Lover's Challenges on SCS and thought the Shipping Tag Bag technique looked fun......and it was! Very easy and you can get so many looks! I thought it would be fun to make a little Christmas bag so I used some holiday dp I still had from last year (I think it's Ski Slope?) and went to town. Mistletoe Kisses is the sweetest image isn't it?! I wanted to get a little out of my comfort zone so instead of my usual rectangle I cut out the image and popped it up on an oval that I sponged with Real Red ink. I added a few Swarovski crystals on either side, popped in my jumbo pewter eyelets with my Crop-a-dile, added some red satin ribbon and gold cord, and you've got one cute Christmas bag! Don't be surprised if you see another one of these soon! *wink*

A Prettie Happy Birthday Kristy!!

Today the Pretties Girls are celebrating another Pretties birthday!! Happy Birthday Kristy!!!!! In true Pretties style, we are having a Pretties birthday blog hop to celebrate! I was in a holiday mood when I sat down to make Kristy's card so I thought I would mingle holiday with birthday and this is what I came up with...
I haven't inked up Trim the Tree Sophia in awhile so I thought I would give her a little birthday spin. She is one of my favorite Sophia's to paper piece. That dress is just too perfect!! This sketch started out as this week's CPS sketch but I was in more of a simple mood so I just kept two of the panels.

A Valentine in December

Yes, you heard that right! I decided since I was horrible about getting my Christmas cards done this year I would give up while I was ahead and start on my Valentine cards! LOL!! I am hoping to get more cards sold this coming year and this might be the first card in my soon-to-be-open Etsy shop!!I am in l-o-v-e with this set!! Hearts on Fire is right!! LOL I spent a little early Christmas money on two new sets from Verve and this is one of the sets that I ordered (you'll be seeing the other set used really soon). I love the Viva la Verve challenges and thought I would play along with the first December challenge. Amber is giving everyone a break this month and having just the sketches and no twists AND they are going to start having guest designers for the challenges!! I would LOVE to be a guest for a month! :)

So that's my small break from Christmas cards but no worries-you'll still be seeing Christmas eye candy from me I am sure. :)

That means it's time for another Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge!! This week's challenge is a sketch and usually I'm pretty good about sticking with sketches but this time I was bad...
I love how the card turned out but it hardly even looks like this week's Paper Makeup sketch. Oops! LOL! The circles just weren't working for what I wanted for this sketch but it's all good. :)

This card is also for two other challenges! The first one is this week's Stamping Sisters in Christ challenge which was based off of this verse:

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (NIV)

You are to make a card to show that you are praying for someone. I have a friend that is going through a lot right now and sweet Madelyn praying is the perfect image to let them know that I am praying. :) This is also for this week's Ways To Use It challenge which is to use a Christmas carol as inspiration. My inspiration carol is O Holy Night:

Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;

This is my favorite Christmas song and I think this card speaks it with no words. :)

A Scrappy Pretties Wednesday

This week Christie is challenging us to make a 6x6 layout using Pretties stamps!! I really need to get better about scrapping so this challenge is perfect!! LOL!! OK, I have to explain this layout! This is a picture of Eric eating cake on his first birthday. Eric was born on Good Friday so he of course got a lot of bunnies and chicks when he was first born. His birthday always falls around Easter so each year he usually gets something Eastery for his birthday so I thought Snowbunny would be perfect for this picture.

Another thing I have to explain is the sentiment. We were all laughing so hard at how he attacked his cake and that's why he's laughing like he is. You should see the video! Almost five years later and it still cracks me up! After the cake he was crazy messy and when we got him out of the high chair what was the first thing he wanted to do? Hug everyone!! LOL Needless to say, once you know the background story this layout is hilarious!

The sketch is this week's Sketch and Stash Challenge #25 which is awesome! I moved a few of the elements around and with this challenge you have to use one new item and my new item is this new Snowbunny stamp set!! I love it!!!

Quick post today!! I have a ton of stuff to do and zero energy to do it! LOL!!!
I just had to show off my card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge using my Verve Winter Mittens digi! I am in LOVE with this font!! I also am in love with my Wassail DP from Basic Grey! :) I wanted the sentiment to really shine so I lined it in Swarvoski crystals. Can you tell I've been in a simple mood lately?

I also placed a Verve order yesterday (a Christmas present to myself! hehehe) so be expecting to see more Verve from me! :)

I am showing off another one of our gorgeous word arts being released TONIGHT!! I'm not sure why it came out so light in the picture but it says, " Because you are my friend, that is reason enough." Gorgeous quote!! The inspiration for this card came from my girl Deb. I LOVE her work and when I saw THIS card I had to make one similar. This is one of those layouts that is perfect for scraps. :)

My Light PMS Sneak Peek

I cannot believe that Sunday is already here!! I think I am most excited about today's sneak peeks. Why? Because I love Scripture stamps and Paper Makeup has a GORGEOUS one being released on December 7th. Check it out...
I just love this Psalm! It speaks so much truth and is something that I need to remind myself of on a daily basis. I wanted to participate in this week's Ways To Use It challenge which was to make a tag so I did! I have several people in mind whom I'm sure would love to get this for Christmas...on a Christmas present of course! *wink* :)

How Did I Do It?

I didn't have any chipboard tags so I decided to make one. I cut a chipboard coaster that I had to the desired size, used my corner rounder on the corners, and covered it with S.E.I. Alpine dp. I sanded and sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa ink with a sponge sweeper and heat embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder and my heat gun. I added a few little shimmers (the gold clip and brads) and used some double stitch Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, some gold cord, and a white button for the top. (I used a Crop-A-Dile to put a white eyelet into my chipboard piece to loop my ribbon through).

A Fairy Good Sneak Peek Day!

I am SOOO excited about this month's fairies being released!! Why? Well, because there is now an Eric fairy and a Dylan fairy named after my sweet little boys!!!! You'll have to check out the PMS blog to check them out but I was so excited when Katie told me. Now all we need is a Todd fairy and my family will be immortalized in rubber! LOL

Today I am showing off another little boy fairy being released named Scott...
Isn't he sweet?! I didn't realize until after I stamped the sentiment (from the new Sailing By set) that I did not use one of the sailing fairies. Oops!! LOL I do plan on covering up his candle with an anchor so the sentiment makes more sense but I had to show off this little guy holding his candle. :)

This sketch is for this week's Stamps and Smiles sketch which is doubling as this week's OCC sketch. I flipped it on it's side and moved a few things around but I hope it counts! :)

...and for the first time ever Paper Makeup has a theme release!! This month we are all about sailing!!This is my card showing of a gorgeous new set called Sailing By. This set is a must-have for anyone with a man in their lives! LOL! I don't know about you guys but I really struggle with male cards and being the only girl in the family I really need to get better at making them and this set really does make it easy. I used the open anchor for my sample and paper pieced it using this gorgeous Granola dp from Basic Grey. This gorgeous sentiment could be used for birthdays, get wells, and congratulations cards.

I used this week's sketch challenge on SCS which is awesome!! I plan on giving this to my step-dad for his birthday coming up on the 31st. :)

Without further ado here is my peek for today!! My line from Winter Wonderland for today is "...though your nose gets a chillin'..." They say that an apple a day keeps the doctor away which will also keep you from getting a cold. LOL! I know it's a stretch but what can I say! :)When I first saw Apple of My Eye my first thought was teacher gift so I decided to make a teacher ornament! The glass you see in the back is a Christmas ball that is going to be filled with red hots. The sentiment is called Holiday Season which is already available to purchase HERE. I apologize for the pic not being the best quality but this sweet little ornament was a pain to photograph! Since neither of the boys are in school yet I made this for my nephew Jaden to give to his teacher. :)

Did You Miss Me?

I feel like it's been forever since I've been on here! We ended up not going out of town because all of us ended up getting sick so we lazed around the house. The highlight of the weekend was when I opened my mailbox and saw THIS inside! Despite feeling sick I thought I'd be productive and make a few Christmas cards!

This first one is for the fourth Viva la Verve challenge for November....
...which is this awesome sketch and the twist was to use chocolate, vanilla, and purple. Not being a big purple fan I had a hard time finding some dp that I liked and finally found a piece from the Fairy Tale line from DCWV that was perfect! I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out. Now this card....
...not so much. This is for the third Viva la Verve challenge for November (I REALLY what that whole release this month! LOL) and even though I liked the sketch and the twist (to make a holiday card) I just do not like what I did with this. I love the poinsettias but I think I should have framed them or something. I dunno...this one might have to have a re-do just to redeem myself! LOL

So this is all that I accomplished this weekend but hey it's something right?! Todd goes back to work tomorrow so we are spending the day cleaning out the garage and getting all of the Christmas stuff out! Sweet!! Have a wonderful Monday everyone!!

I thought it would be nice to have something pretty on the table at Thanksgiving and so I made a little place setting. :) I know it's really simple and kind of eh but I've got the flu so even sitting up is hard let alone making a card but I didn't want to let my peeps down. :) This is also for this week's Ways to Use It challenge on SCS which is all about being thankful!

This week's challenge comes from Heather who challenged us to use black, white, and red and a bonus challenge to use glitter. LOVE this color combo and I knew immediately what set I wanted to use.... I am in *love* with Sassy Shoes!!! Such a girlie girl set!! I paired it up with my Rockability dp (I am going to be SO sad when I don't have this dp anymore) and this week's Mojo Monday sketch and you've got one smokin' hot card! LOL I also do have glitter on here even though it's hard to see in the picture but I used a black Spica glitter pen and colored in the insole so it shimmers! :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Sorry I am so late posting this but today kicks off Todd's break in service (a fancy term for vacation) so I was spending the morning with the fam. :) I was so excited to participate in this week's Technique Lover's Challenge that I had to show it to you guys!!!I have always been fascinated with people who could get images so perfect outside the dies so when I saw this technique I squealed!! LOL I have wanted to do that with my Happy Birth Day Lamb for awhile so that's exactly what I did. I want to get back to using more of my scraps and I found this lonely piece of dp and thought it was the perfect size for the front of a card. :) I based all of my colors off of it and it really turned into such a fun card!

We are taking a surprise trip to Arkansas to see Todd's brother and family and am leaving super early Thursday morning. No worries though because I will have a few days of eye candy for you including this month's first Friends of PMS blog hop on Friday!! If that title didn't catch your attention I don't know what will! LOL Happy Monday everyone!! Is everyone staying warm today? A cold front blew into DFW last night and BRRR!!! I am SO not a cold person so if you say the temp is going to be lower than 60 I grab a coat. I am a big time baby when it comes to the cold but anyway...

I was *so* excited when I read that this week's Featured Stamper was Dawn Easton!! She is one of my stamping idols! Her clean and simple style gets me every time. I spent all yesterday morning sipping pumpkin spiced coffee and drooling at all of her gallery creations. I have at least 15 cards saved that I want to eventually case (seriously) and I decided THIS card would be my first CASE...
I still have plenty of that Summer Picnic dp so I kept the paper and layout of Dawn's card. I did change the main image to the new Twisty Tree from Paper Makeup and the sentiment from Everyday Thanks. I also changed up the embellies and added a few here and there. Thank you SO much Dawn for the inspiration and congrats again!!!

Have you guys heard about this week's special Just Us Girls challenge? Paper Makeup has teamed up with the JUGs team to raise money for the Anderson family who I told you guys about HERE. It is an awesome challenge for an awesome cause but you have to hurry-the challenge ends on Wednesday so head over there and check it out. Tres Chic Makeup 4 the Weekend

Hi peeps! Quick post today showing off my creation for this week's Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge!!You can find the challenge sketch and more eye candy HERE. I also participated in one of the Paper Makeup release party challenges but am a day late posting. Oops! That's what I get for procrastinating! LOL Regardless it was a fun MAKEUP challenge!! Here's the recipe:

foundation: use textured cardstock (prism, bazzill, or embossed)

blush: use the color pink

eyes: use the color black (like mascara)

lips: use something shimmery/shiny (like lip gloss)

My unknown yet gorgeous dp is actually embossed but to be on the safe side I also embossed my black panel-CHECK!! Using the colors pink and black-CHECK!! Finally, something shimmery and shiny which is that gorgeous dp and I also added Pixie Dust Blingz all over her outfit though I could not get it to really shimmer in the picture-CHECK!!

You guys MUST play along with this week's sketch. It's a super simple one so you can jazz it up any way you need so you can make it your own! :)

That's it for me! I am super busy this weekend but I am going to try my best to have some special eye candy for you guys tomorrow so until then!!
