Some Exciting News & Scallops Belli Style

Good morning!! First, a little business:

I am so sorry that I am just now getting around to announcing this but I would like to formally welcome Faith Hofrichter to the Sweet 'n Sassy team. I have been in love with Faith's work since I started stamping and am so excited that she is going to be apart of the team. :)

Were you guys at the Verve release party last night. I wasn't either but as soon as I got home I ran to the computer to see if I won the whole kit and caboodle...I didn't. BUT Julee had so many who entered that she picked a second random winner and I won a $50 gift card on top of my $15 gift card. I am SOOO doing the happy dance and have already placed my order so it can get here!!! My hard work paid off!! Verve Stamps has to be one of my favorite stamp companies for so many reasons but mostly because I was there when Verve began so it's very sentimental to me. I'll have to tell that story at a later time because....

It's time for this week's Belli Challenge...SCALLOPS!! I know that there has been a lot of buzz with the new Stampin' Up! scallop punch hitting the market as of Monday so I thought I would show it off yet again with a sneak peek of one of the new sets coming out from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps in September....

Is this not the sweetest thing ever?! This set is called Hugs For Janessa and is a special set that is in honor of Korin's niece Janessa. $5.00 from each set sold will go to a family that is battling Lukemia to help cover high medical bills. Of course, the first recepient is Janessa but once she goes into remission then it will go to another family and and so on.

Janessa has a special little bunny that she carries around with her and helps her through the rough treatments that she goes through so I really wanted to show off the bunny on this card. The layout is Laura's Sketch #6 from 2 Sketches For You (which I LOVE) and the yummy paper is from the Nana's Nursery line from DCWV which fits this set perfectly. I used my All In A Row set from SU to make the stitching around each panel and used my SU scallop punch for the middle panel. I piece of Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon with a cute little bow is my only embellie. I thought the stitching was plenty. :) I colored the adorable bunny with my Koh-i-Nor pencils, cut her out, and popped her up on dimensionals to highlight her. One of my very good friends just had a baby about a week ago so this is going straight to her! {Hi Tamika!!!}
